Charitable Ventures is committed to supporting programs and initiatives that expand the capacities of grassroots and nonprofit leaders, provide collaborative engagement, contribute new knowledge to the field, and offer a platform to support innovative ideas that lead to community-centered solutions. These efforts take a variety of forms, and we are proud to support the industry in this way.
Our Initiatives
Our community programs are designed to strengthen nonprofit capacity, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful, community-centered impact. Through a combination of innovative tools, regional initiatives, and cross-sector partnerships, we support nonprofit leaders, funders, and public agencies in addressing complex social challenges. Each program is built to increase access to resources, improve coordination across stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes that benefit communities across Orange County and beyond.
Catalyst Fund
The Catalyst Fund provides short-term, flexible loans to small nonprofits facing cash-flow gaps from delayed reimbursements, contract timing, or growth. Designed with nonprofits in mind, each loan is paired with financial coaching and technical assistance to strengthen long-term stability.
City by City
City by City brought together residents, community leaders, and city officials across Orange County to explore issues of immigrant belonging, safety, and sanctuary through candid dialogue and data-driven conversations grounded in one important reality: over one million immigrants call OC home.
Navigating Uncertainty Together
Navigating Uncertainty Together is a peer learning series for Orange County nonprofit leaders navigating political and economic volatility. Part survivalist workshop, part support group, the program creates space for shared learning, scenario planning, and candid dialogue — paired with practical tools, expert facilitators, and a cohort of peers facing the same challenges.
OC Votes
As part of our commitment to strengthen our communities, Charitable Ventures encourages all nonprofits to mobilize and advocate to Get Out the Vote. Our OC Votes campaign provides resources, educational events, and newsletters to help engage nonprofits, focused on critical community issues, during election seasons.
Know Your Rights: Immigration
Charitable Ventures has activated an immigration resource portal with up-to-date information, policy analysis, events, and tools to help community partners navigate the evolving immigration landscape. Our goal is to reduce misinformation, promote resources, and engage community-based organizations in this effort.

OC Economic Justice Initiative
Led by Charitable Ventures and funded by a grant from The James Irvine Foundation, the OC Economic Justice Initiative aims to lift the efforts of emerging nonprofits focused on bringing economic justice to marginalized communities in Orange County.
The Village at 17th Street
Since 2008, Charitable Ventures has proudly served as the concierge for The Village at 17th Street while also operating as a tenant within the affordable multi-tenant nonprofit center, helping foster collaboration and shared impact in Orange County.
Research and Reports
The Charitable Ventures social impact consulting team deploys a variety of best practices in research, community assessment and engagement to develop reports that are relevant and actionable.
Our Community Reports provide in-depth research and analysis to help organizations, funders, and policymakers better understand community needs and opportunities. Using a combination of data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and field research, we produce reports that are both actionable and relevant. These insights support more informed decision-making, stronger program design, and more effective allocation of resources across communities.
Training and Workshops
Every year, Charitable Ventures offers educational workshops, trainings, and conversations designed to strengthen nonprofit leaders and community partners working to create positive community impact. Our workshops and trainings are designed to equip nonprofit leaders, community partners, and emerging changemakers with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving sector. Topics include leadership development, grant strategy, program design, evaluation, and community engagement. Through interactive sessions and expert-led discussions, participants gain practical tools and real-world insights they can immediately apply to their work.
