In the face of increasing political rhetoric, and to counter both misinformation and disinformation around immigration policy, Charitable Ventures is committed to lifting the work of our partners and to promoting and disseminating quality resources in as many languages as we can gather.

Immigration Policy Changes
As you may already know, the current administration rescinded the Department of Homeland Security’s Protected Areas policy which means federal agents will now be able carry out immigration enforcement actions in previously protected locations such as schools and child care programs.
As you help your communities navigate these policy changes, we want to provide you this resource from our partners at CLASP with more information on what this policy means, and what actions programs can take to continue to support all the children and families in their community, including but not limited to children with undocumented family members for whom this policy change will be most harmful and impactful.
We know these changes are likely to be accompanied by uncertainty, fear, and anxiety for educators and for the children and families they serve. We will continue to keep you informed, and provide resources and support, alongside our partners, to help you understand and navigate these and other policy and practice changes as they come. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like more information about the types of resources our team is working to develop for the field during this time, or to share examples of how this and other immigration policy changes are impacting programs in your communities.

Advancing Justice (AJSOCAL) will share ways organizations can further support impacted immigrants and allies and prepare for current and potential new immigration policy changes.

CHIRLA will be holding two virtual “Know Your Rights” sessions open to both staff and the community. One session will be held in English on Tuesday, June 17th and the other in Spanish on Wednesday, June 18th.
