Sam Newman
Data Analyst

As Data Analyst for Charitable Ventures, Sam focuses on developing evaluation plans, conducting data collection and analysis, creating data visualization products, and synthesizing evaluation findings into reports. He collaborates with the CV team to ensure the quality and timeliness of CV deliverables, communicates with clients, and participates in planning and executing projects.

Prior to his current position, Sam recently worked as a Data Analyst for UCLA’s Public Policy Department, where he cleaned, analyzed, and visualized survey data and communicated results to faculty.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Willamette University and a Master’s in Public Policy from UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs, with concentrations in Education, Data Analytics, and Statistics. He lives in Northern California, where he enjoys playing basketball, backpacking in the Sierras, and trying to play the guitar.
